July 2006 >>>>  Pinjarra Power Plant Handover

The Pinjarra Unit 1 (Australia) combined cycle power station was recently handed over to the owners by the contracting team of Downer and Mitsubishi.

The Pinjarra instrumentation system was completely developed using the Elecdes instrumentation tools and the Downer engineering database.

Cabling and associated raceway was designed, managed and terminated with Elecdes and Paneldes.

Cable routing/filling/drumming etc was automatically engineered using the Elecdes design suite routing modules.

The Engineering Manager at Downer, Mr Rod Harle has stated :“Downer Engineering’s power business in NSW utilised the capabilities of the
Elecdes and Paneldes Drawing Automation Suite in the generation of all loop diagrams, termination diagrams, 3D cable tray design, auto cable routing and cable scheduling for the Pinjarra Unit 1 Gas Turbine Power Station. Automatic generation of drawings  from database information resulted in significant improvements in terms of drawing accuracy, quality control and change management over more conventional drawing
production methods.”

Termination order optimization technology updated:  EDS is now utilizing a modified "kruskels" algorithm to optimize complex
wire routing scenarios at high speed. This feature is not only unique to EDS but is years ahead of the competitors in its performance!

Project wide data refresh for Tables:  EDS has now extended "project wide data updating" to include the tabular data linked to external databases. Once your data is linked the tables are automatically updated upon request - in all documents!

Report and Data traffic speed up: To help speed up the drawing process, we have optimized the data throughput in
the latest version of EDS. Processes can now be seen to be up to 10x faster!
